B acked by 31 years of professional experience, I. Richard Levy is a prominent litigator in the legal field. As a child Mr. Levy became very interested in law and had the desire to do something important to help people, be creative and use his intellect. As a high school student, he attended a Dallas magnet school where he was enrolled in an advanced social science program. By senior year he had the opportunity to work with a well- known executive attorney in Dallas which helped to ignite his passion and aide him in pursuing the legal field. In preparation of his career he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political sciences and economics from Yale University in 1981 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas in 1986. With a specialization in business bankruptcy law, Mr. Levy began his legal career as an associate for Atkin, Gimp, Strauss, Hauer & Feld in 1986. Advancing and making headway in his career, he made partner at Block Garden & McNeil, formerly known as Block & Garden LLP in 2011 before branching out and obtaining the position of Shareholder of I. Richard Levy PC, a position he held from 2003 to 2010 and regained in 2014. Aside from his legal career, he has delved into education, serving as a freshman counselor at Timothy Dwight College from 1980 to 1981, writing instructor and teaching quizmaster in legal research it at the University of Texas at Austin from 1985 to 1986. Mr. Levy remains abreast of the field as a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Yale Alumni Association and the Yale Alumni Schools Committee.
