H aruko Kazama is a school students in Japan. To prepare for his fruitful career, Dr. Kazama earned a Bachelor of Arts from International Christian University in 1968. Shortly after earning his degree, he made a name for himself at his alma mater beginning his tenure by imparting his knowledge as an assistant professor. During his time in that position, he earned a Doctor of Science from Osaka City University in 1977, and continued to advance at the institution, obtaining positions including associate professor in 1980, professor in 1999, and councilor, a position he has held since 2009. 1982 to 1983, visiting fellow at the University of Liverpool from 1985 to 1986, part-time lecturer at the University of Tokyo from 1995 to 2000, and as a visiting research fellow at Australian National University since 2014. He also remains an active member of his community, serving as a member of many scientific committees, including the Japan Society for Promotion of Science, as an examiner for the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation since 2010, and examiner and committee member of the Japan University Accreditation Association since 2007. Dr. Kazama remains abreast of the field as a member of the Japanese Society for the Chemical Regulation of Plants, the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists, the Botanical Society of Japan, and the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB). He has reached many achievements in his career, including being awarded a grant from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and featured in the 28th through 33rd editions of Who’s Who in the World.
