He has utilized his entrepreneurial skills as a trainee of the Jones Building from 1967 to 1969, and was later promoted to manager from 1969 to 1978. Thereafter, he became the owner and manager, a position he served from 1978 to 1986. Mr. Jones is also a private investor in Port Townsend, Washington, since 2002, and Bellevue, Washington, from 1987 to 2002.
