D avid Conrad is a savvy businessman with real estate and business brokerage experience. His career started when he left the family business, Libby Hill Seafood Restaurants, which at the time consisted of 18 restaurants, due to differences with an older brother who was also involved with the business. Upon leaving the company, he then bought a cleaning franchise, Swisher Maids of Greensboro. The owner of the franchise was impressed with David and soon promoted him to regional director of the entire company, but after working for the company for three years, he decided it was not for him. Wanting to sell the franchise, he called a business brokerage owner to represent him, subsequently leading to Mr. Conrad’s being hired immediately. the family business, received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from East Carolina University in 1970 and, as a result of his fascination with real estate, also received a North Carolina real estate license. In 1993, he left Libby Hill and jumped directly into the real estate field as a commercial broker for Miller-Hatcher Commercial Real Estate in Winston-Salem, N.C., and later for Allied Commercial Real Estate in Kernersville, N.C. He continued to flourish, founding and owning several businesses, including Triad Business Brokerage; Star Video Games; Grand Coastal Business Brokerage; Fishes, LLC; CedarMountain Log Homes, and Blue Ridge Business Brokerage and Commercial Real Estate, which he established in 2005 and still owns and operates today. Mr. Conrad is a 32 nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Methodist Church. He served his country as a staff sergeant in the North Carolina National Guard from 1968 to 1974 and was also a member of the Greensboro Jaycees from 1973 to 1981. He was a member of the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors and is a Certified Business Counselor.
