MILLENNIUM

M artin Berkon is an accomplished artist who is well-versed in water color and oil. To prepare for his successful career, Mr. Berkon studied at Pratt Institute in 1952 and thereafter earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College in 1954 and a Master of Arts from New York University in 1959. He began his professional career as an adjunct faculty member at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Nassau Community College in 1966 and two years later became a lecturer at City College of the City University of New York. After leaving City College, he continued working in secondary education at colleges across New York, including Nassau Community College in 1982 and St. Thomas Aquinas College in 1995. He also had the opportunity to be interviewed by Long Island Art Scene Television in 1986. Mr. Berkon has reached many accomplishments throughout his career. He has been featured in numerous one- man shows at the Smolin Gallery, the Century West Gallery, the Soho Center for Visual Artists, the Genesis Galleries, Adelphi University, and the Blue Hill

Art and Cultural Center. His artwork has also been included in group shows at the Brooklyn Museum, the Silvermine Arts Center, Ohio University, Ball State University, and Wesleyan College. Mr. Berkon's work has been acquired by The Aldrich Museum and the Vero Beach Museum and is in the corporate collections of Texaco, PepsiCo and Pfizer. He has been featured in several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.
