L eslie P. Antalffy was born in Budapest, Hungary on October 31, 1942. Mr. Antalffy had dreams of researching, designing, developing, building and testing mechanical and thermal devices that society uses daily. He obtained a baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Adelaide in 1970 and a Master of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University in 1980. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas and a chartered engineer in Australia. Mr. Antalffy began his career as a mechanical engineer for T. O’Connor & Sons from 1968 to 1969. After leaving the company, he was a vessel engineer for Lummus Company Canada from 1970 to 1973 and moved up the ranks to serve as a senior vessel engineer from 1972 to 1973. Wanting to expand his knowledge, he relocated to the United States in 1973 and joined the Fluor Corporation in Houston, Texas. engineer. His abilities allowed him to progress in several leadership roles, including those of supervising mechanical engineer, mechanical engineering director, senior mechanical engineering director, and senior technical fellow. Since 2010 he has been the executive director of process technology and engineering. Mr. Antalffy has received 12 United States patents in delayed coking, contributed articles to professional journals, and presented technical papers at international conferences. He remains abreast of his field as a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a member of numerous technical committees. He has been featured inWho’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, andWho’s Who in the World. In June 2017, he received Hydrocarbon Processing Magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Vienna, Austria.
