P ainting is the art form often associated with late artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Michelangelo and Picasso. However, the art form is reaching new and elevated heights with current painters such as Linda Gross Brown. Ms. Gross Brown received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design and illustration and a master’s degree in painting at Kent State University. Throughout her studies at Kent, she was able to learn from painters whom she admired, including Morton Grossman and Joseph O’Sickey. Ms. Gross Brown’s work focuses on the utilization of pastel colors, emitting beautiful imagery throughout her art. She was designated a Master Pastelist by the International Association of Pastel Societies and inducted into its Master Circle, among many other awards she has received. She was given

the Claude Parsons Memorial Award by the American Artists Professional League, the Ampersand Art Supply Award by the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, and the Connecticut Pastel Society Award for A Pastel by the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. Ms. Gross Brown’s biggest accomplishment was opening her art studio on Linda Street in Rocky River, Ohio. Having gained extensive knowledge and several accolades, she knew that establishing her own studio would push her art and recognition to new heights. Her work has not only received awards at exhibitions, but has also been featured in many local and international print publications, such as The Artist’s Magazine in Blue Ash, Ohio, and France’s Pratique des Arts. Ms. Gross Brown captures the true essence of nature through her beautiful pastel paintings and is worthy of the many accolades she has achieved thus far in her flourishing painting career.
