B acked by 56 years of and environmental lawyer in New York City. Mr. French earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College in 1955 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1958. He was admitted to the New York state bar in 1959 and the Washington D.C. state bar in 1988. He was influenced by the many lawyers within his family. In 1961, he began his professional career as an associate of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, serving in that position for seven years before taking on a similar position at Satterlee Stephens LLP from 1968 to 1973. He continued to work diligently in the field, obtaining partner positions at Appleton, Rice & Perrin and Beveridge and Diamond PC, where he was counsel from 1993 to 1999. chairman of Tudor Associates, LLC, a position he has held since 1999. Aside from practicing, he served as a lecturer for the Practising Law Institute from 1979 to 1983 and the American Law Institute and has contributed articles to professional journals in the field. Mr. French has been a member of the American Bar Association, the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance, the Environmental Law Institute, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association, the Mayflower Society, the Metropolitan Opera Association and the Century Association. Throughout his career, Mr. French has experienced many highlights, including receiving an award from the New York State Bar Association recognizing his accomplishments in the field of environmental law. He is considered a pioneer because he had a hand in the formation of environmental law in this country. He is a member of VFW and the American Legion.
